In response to the fatal crash of an Air Force training jet at Uttara’s Milestone School and College, the BNP will organize nationwide prayers and mourning on Tuesday. According to a statement signed by Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the program will be held in Dhaka and across the country to pray for the deceased and the swift recovery of the injured. The central prayer gathering will take place at BNP’s Nayapaltan office at 11:30 AM. On Monday, Tarique Rahman directed party members to donate blood and participate in relief efforts, personally overseeing ambulance services. Events by BNP’s Women and Farmers’ wings were postponed in solidarity.

"Madrasa Resistance Day 2025" was observed on Monday at Jamia Mahmudia Madrasa to commemorate the heroic role of madrasa students and Islamic scholars during the July 2024 mass uprising in Jatrabari. Family members of martyrs and movement leaders spoke at the event. Cultural performances included hamd, naat, poetry, and protest songs. Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim, Nayeb-e-Ameer of Islami Andolon Bangladesh, has stated that the anti-discrimination movement of 2024 was not aimed at seizing power or influencing elections. The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced the 49th Special BCS Examination 2025 to recruit 683 lecturers under the General Education Cadre. Of the total vacancies, 653 are in government general colleges and 30 in teacher training colleges. The highest number of posts—61—are in Bengali, followed by Political Science, English, Economics, and others. This special BCS aims to address the acute shortage of teachers in public colleges, where over 3,500 positions currently remain vacant across the country.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that preliminary registration for Hajj 2026 will begin on July 27. Interested pilgrims must deposit BDT 400,000 initially. Final registration must be completed by October 12, 2025, as per the Saudi roadmap. The full Hajj package, including airfare and costs in Saudi Arabia, will be announced soon. Government pilgrims can register via e-Hajj platforms, while private pilgrims must go through authorized agencies. The decision was made in a meeting chaired by Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A.F.M. Khalid Hossain.

The Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) has been expelled from the 12-party opposition alliance due to internal disputes and their participation in a Jamaat-e-Islami rally at Suhrawardy Udyan without permission. Alliance leaders said JAGPA repeatedly violated the coalition's policies and discipline. On July 19, JAGPA Vice President Rashed Pradhan attended the Jamaat rally and criticized the BNP, which contradicted the alliance's stance. As a result, JAGPA will no longer have any affiliation or responsibilities within the alliance.

Grief has swept over a family home in Rajshahi following the tragic death of 27-year-old Flight Lieutenant Towkir Islam Sagar, who perished in a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crash in Dhaka’s Uttara area. Sagar, a recently married young pilot, lost his life just six months after tying the knot. The fatal crash occurred at 1:06 PM on Monday near the Milestone College area in Uttara. The accident has, so far, claimed 19 lives and left over a hundred people injured. Sagar was regarded as a highly promising officer within the Bangladesh Air Force. His family has traveled to Dhaka to receive his body. Burial arrangements are currently pending a final decision from the family.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that the interim government is increasingly behaving like a partisan body, contributing to deteriorating governance, economic decline, and law and order issues in the country.
