Police in Shariatpur detained two Awami League activists following a raid on a gathering allegedly organized under the pretext of a khichuri event. An elderly Indian Muslim man has been stranded for several days in the no-man’s land between India and Bangladesh near the Dewanganj border in Jamalpur. A local leader of the Krishak Dal, Badal Morol, aged 38, was killed in an attack by unidentified assailants in Bagerhat’s Sadar upazila on Tuesday night. Six individuals were detained by the 13th Armed Police Battalion (APBn) at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on June 10, 2026, for possessing approximately 597.3 grams of gold jewelry. Mohammad Selim Uddin, central executive council member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation, accused the Home Minister of creating unnecessary controversy over Islami Bank.
