Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim, Nayeb-e-Ameer of Islami Andolon Bangladesh, has stated that the anti-discrimination movement of 2024 was not aimed at seizing power or influencing elections. Rather, it was a fight for civil rights and to build a Bangladesh free from fascism. Speaking at a public rally in Narsingdi, he added, "If Islamic governance prevails, no one will remain hungry—everyone's basic needs will be ensured." He also remarked, "If neither BNP nor Awami League is in power, who will rule? With 92% of the population being Muslim, Islam will naturally take its place."
