Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit arrested four people in the Jatrabari area of the capital while they were allegedly preparing to commit mugging. The operation was conducted at about 8:15am on Sunday at the Jatrabari police station roundabout, according to CTTC sources.

The detainees were identified as Mohammad Ali, 20; Nurnabi Akash Majhi, 23; Jamal, 25; and Sohan, 26. CTTC said an operational team from its City-Intelligence Analysis Division received confidential information that several alleged criminals were preparing for mugging near the Jatrabari roundabout.

Following the information, the team conducted an operation at the location and detained the four during the alleged preparations, the CTTC said. Legal action has been taken against them, and they were later sent to the court, according to the unit.
