An eleven-party alliance organized a protest march and rally in Ranishankoil, Thakurgaon, on Friday, June 12, 2026, condemning the killing of Bangladeshi citizens along the border and the continued push-in from India. The demonstration began at the local office of Jamaat-e-Islami and ended at Shibdighi July Square after parading through the town’s main streets.

At the rally, Abdul Hakim, a team member of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Rangpur region, said that the killing of unarmed Bangladeshis and the illegal push-in of people violate international law and human rights. He urged the government to take effective diplomatic measures to stop the border killings and protect national sovereignty. Golam Murtaza Selim, central chief coordinator of the National Citizens Party, emphasized ensuring the safety of Bangladeshis at the border and called for strong international protest against those responsible for the push-in incidents.

Other speakers included district Jamaat secretary Alomgir Hossain, upazila Jamaat amir Rafiqul Islam, former nayeb-e-amir Mizanur Rahman, district National Citizens Party secretary Khalilur Rahman, and district Chhatra Shibir president Sadekul Islam Munna.
