The government of Bangladesh has announced a firm commitment to curb cyberbullying, misinformation, and fake videos that harm innocent and respected individuals. Prime Minister’s Adviser Dr. Zahedur Rahman disclosed that a panel of lawyers and experts will be formed to address these issues. He made the announcement on Tuesday during a press conference at the Department of Information in the Secretariat, where the government’s Chief Information Officer Syed Abdal Ahmad was also present.

Dr. Rahman stated that social media and digital platforms are being used to conduct cyberbullying, and it is the government’s responsibility to protect citizens from such acts. He emphasized that the government will ensure proper enforcement of laws to prevent these offenses.

The initiative reflects the government’s growing focus on digital safety and accountability in online spaces, aiming to strengthen legal and institutional measures against cyber harassment and misinformation.
