The International Crimes Tribunal has ordered retired Major Mozzaffar Hossain, a fugitive accused in the assassination case of former President Ziaur Rahman, to appear before the tribunal on July 23 in connection with a war crimes case in Feni related to the July uprising. The directive was issued on Tuesday afternoon following a prosecution request.

Chief Prosecutor Md. Aminul Islam stated that investigators found evidence of communication between Mozzaffar Hossain and another arrested accused, retired Lieutenant General Masud Uddin Chowdhury. Based on this information, the prosecution sought the tribunal’s order to produce Mozzaffar for trial.

The tribunal’s order marks a new step in the ongoing proceedings concerning alleged crimes against humanity committed during the Feni events, with Mozzaffar’s trial to be conducted under the jurisdiction of the International Crimes Tribunal.
