Police in Madaripur Sadar arrested Biplob Matubbar, 26, an absconding accused with arrest warrants in three cases, alleging he was preparing for a robbery. The report, published on July 29, 2026, said he was sent to jail through a court on Wednesday afternoon. Biplob is the son of Billal Matubbar of Gachhbariar area in Madaripur Sadar upazila.

Police said the Sadar Model Police Station conducted a special operation on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Md Habibur Rahman. A team led by Sub-Inspector Md Ziaur Rahman detained Biplob at Mostafapur Bazar on Tuesday afternoon. Police alleged that he was preparing for a robbery at the time. After verification, officers confirmed court-issued arrest warrants against him in three cases.

Additional Superintendent of Police for Sadar Circle Fariha Rafiq Bhabna said the warrants concerned cases related to drugs, terrorism and juvenile gangs. She said he was sent to jail after necessary legal procedures. Police said further legal proceedings in the cases filed against Biplob remain ongoing. The report also said he had previously drawn attention after posting a Facebook selfie holding Phensedyl.
