Jamaat-e-Islami organized a protest rally and assembly in Patgram, Lalmonirhat, on Thursday night following the shooting death of Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha. The demonstration began at the town’s Chourangi intersection shortly after news of Hadi’s death spread, marching through the main streets before returning to the starting point for a gathering.

The rally was led by Sohel Rana, the municipal Jamaat chief, and attended by former district Jamaat leader Ataur Rahman, Upazila Shibir president Khorshed Alam, and other party activists. Speakers accused political rivals of orchestrating the attack, claiming that certain groups feared losing power in a fair election. They described Hadi as a fearless voice against extortion and demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those responsible.

The incident has heightened local political tensions ahead of the upcoming national polls, with opposition parties alleging targeted violence against their activists. Authorities have yet to confirm arrests or identify suspects in the killing.
