Labor Adviser M. Sakhawat Hossain announced that the government has imposed a travel ban on 12 factory owners for failing to pay workers’ salaries and bonuses within the stipulated time. They will not be allowed to leave the country until all payments are made. According to him, all garment factories were supposed to clear wages and allowances by March 27, but 12 factories failed to comply. Five of these factories are already facing labor unrest. However, he did not disclose the names of the factory owners facing travel restrictions.
