Independent vice-presidential candidate Shamim Hossain cast his vote in the DUCSU election and spoke to the press about attempts to undermine the process.
"There have been efforts to reduce my votes through cyber attacks and propaganda. But Dhaka University students are wise—I trust they will make the right decision," he said.
Shamim added that the voting atmosphere has so far remained peaceful, with no signs of disruption. Voting continues until 4 p.m., with heavy security blanketing the campus.
