The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. in Goalanagar Union, where two rival groups, known as the Choura and Honaro communities, confronted each other over a longstanding dispute.

According to local sources, the Choura group consists of seven villages—Geyalnagar Schoolpara, Laluartuku, Dakshindia, Shibpur, Jamarbali, Maizkhola, and Kadamtali—while the Honaro group includes three villages—Goalanagar, Machma, and Rampur.
