Bangladesh’s Cabinet Division has formed six committees to manage the swearing-in ceremony for the new president, according to an office order issued on Sunday. The Election Commission announced the presidential election schedule on August 6. The ceremony will be held at a date, time and venue set after approval from the prime minister.

The committees include a coordination committee led by Cabinet Division Secretary for Coordination and Reforms Farah Shammi. Additional Secretary Md Shamim Sohel will lead documentation and record preservation, as well as guest-list preparation and invitation printing. Additional Secretary Mohammad Khaled Hasan will head invitation distribution and receipt verification.

Additional Secretary Md Humayun Kabir will lead seating arrangements, while Additional Secretary Yasmin Begum will head reception arrangements. The committees may include officials and employees as needed, and must quickly convene meetings to prepare work plans. Subcommittee conveners will regularly update the secretary for coordination and reforms and seek necessary instructions. Under the Election Commission schedule, voting in the presidential election will take place on August 20.
