Abu Bakar Siddique, the father of Hafizul Shikder who was killed during the July uprising in Bangladesh, has demanded that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina be brought back from India and executed publicly. Speaking to journalists at the premises of the International Crimes Tribunal on Monday, Siddique stated that merely sentencing Hasina to death was not enough and that justice would only be served if the punishment was carried out in public. He expressed deep grief over the loss of his son, who was killed on July 20 last year near the Post Office intersection in Badda, Dhaka. Siddique said that only through public execution could the souls of the victims find peace and the families achieve justice. His statement reflects ongoing anger and demands for accountability following the violent events of the July uprising.
