Nagarik Oikya president Mahmudur Rahman Manna has said that preparations are being made to take BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia to Singapore or a European country for advanced medical care. However, he noted that her current physical condition does not yet allow her to travel. Speaking to reporters after visiting her at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Saturday, Manna said doctors have not expressed optimism about her recovery and have urged the nation to pray for her. Khaleda Zia, who has been suffering from multiple health complications, was admitted to the hospital on November 23 with lung infection and heart issues. She remains in the hospital’s CCU under close supervision of a medical board comprising both local and foreign specialists. BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman stated that doctors are providing dedicated care and that several friendly nations have expressed willingness to assist with her treatment.
