Dr Shafiqur Rahman, opposition leader in the national parliament and ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, visited the graves of slain Shibir leaders Saifullah Bari and Salauddin in Bonarpara, Saghatta upazila of Gaibandha. The visit took place at 10am on Monday.

Before visiting the graves, Rahman met the families of the two slain leaders. He then performed the grave visit with party leaders and activists. Gaibandha district Jamaat naib-e-ameer and freedom fighter Abdul Warech MP was present during the programme.

Central assistant secretary general Maulana Abdul Halim, district ameer Abdul Karim MP and local leaders also attended. Rahman was scheduled to address a public meeting as chief guest at Bonarpara Kazi Azhar Ali Model Government High School field, organised by the district Jamaat-e-Islami.
