Following a visit to the Horticulture Center in Mouchak, Kaliakair, Gazipur, Home Minister’s Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury clarified on Sunday that reports claiming the arrest of former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Habibul Awal are inaccurate. “He has not been arrested,” he stated. However, he confirmed that another former CEC, KM Nurul Huda, was detained in Uttara, adding, “The manner in which he was apprehended resembles mob justice, which is unacceptable.”
