The United States has withdrawn its forces from the strategically important Ain al-Asad airbase in western Iraq, transferring full control to the Iraqi army. Iraq’s Ministry of Defense confirmed on Saturday that the withdrawal of foreign troops stationed at the base has been completed and Iraqi forces have formally assumed responsibility.
