The National Citizen Party’s Lakshmipur district branch held a torch procession in Lakshmipur town on Wednesday night to protest an attack on NCP central leaders in Habiganj. After the march, party leaders and activists warned that if NCP faced another attack, the BNP would face the same fate as Sheikh Hasina. The report was published on July 29, 2026, at 9:30 pm.

NCP leaders said they had been accused of violating political decorum. They argued that the BNP committed the largest breach of political decorum by rejecting the February 12 referendum. They also alleged that hundreds of mobs were created while the interim government was carrying out its responsibilities, causing repeated obstacles to the government’s work.

The NCP speakers described the BNP as the main violator of political decorum in the country. Those present included Lakshmipur district senior joint convener Jahangir Alam, joint convener Abdur Rahman, member secretary Advocate Shamsuzzaman Sohel, joint member secretaries Mobarak Hossain, M Farvez and Anwar Hossain Arif, organisational secretary Md Yusuf Hasan, assistant organisational secretary Hanif Mohammad, and Abdul Ahad Farabi, among others.
