Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has expressed deep sorrow over the reported death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, allegedly killed in a joint attack by the United States and Israel. In a Facebook post on Sunday, he described Khamenei’s death as martyrdom and conveyed condolences to the people of Iran.
In his message, Rahman warned that the ongoing instability in the Middle East has already placed regional peace at severe risk. He cautioned that any further escalation of military conflict could have devastating consequences for the entire region. He also noted that attacks during the holy month of Ramadan would heighten global anger and anxiety, endangering world peace.
Calling for an immediate end to hostilities, Rahman urged the United States, Israel, Iran, and all involved parties to exercise restraint and pursue diplomatic solutions. He emphasized the importance of upholding international law, state sovereignty, and civilian protection, and appealed to the United Nations and world leaders to take effective action to preserve global peace.
