The unofficial final results for all 43 polling centers in Taraganj upazila under Rangpur-2 (Badarganj-Taraganj) constituency were announced on Thursday, February 12, 2026. According to the results, ATM Azharul Islam, the Jamaat-e-Islami candidate nominated by the 11-party alliance, received 43,076 votes with the 'scales' symbol and was declared unofficially elected.

His nearest rival, Mohammad Ali Sarkar of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), secured 22,100 votes with the 'paddy sheaf' symbol. Anisul Islam Mondol, contesting with the 'plough' symbol, came third with 12,798 votes, while Islami Andolan’s Maulana Ashraf Ali received 2,963 votes with the 'hand fan' symbol. Azizur Rahman of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) obtained 88 votes with the 'star' symbol.

In a referendum held across the same 43 centers, 55,477 'yes' votes and 18,315 'no' votes were recorded. Election officials stated that these results are unofficial, and the formal announcement will be made later.
