Iran’s Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdolrahim Mousavi, and Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh were killed in a joint missile attack by the United States and Israel, according to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency. The strike occurred on Sunday morning local time, following earlier attacks on Saturday that targeted senior Iranian defense officials.

Reports from Iranian television stated that Mousavi and several senior commanders were killed during a defense council meeting. The list of casualties also included Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Major General Mohammad Pakpour and Supreme Defense Council chairman Ali Shamkhani. The attacks reportedly destroyed multiple defense facilities.

Earlier, Iranian media confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a separate strike on his palace, which was completely destroyed. His daughter, son-in-law, and grandson were also reported killed. The developments have drawn international reactions, with Russia and North Korea condemning the strikes as violations of international law and acts of aggression.
