Prime Minister’s adviser and spokesperson Mahdi Amin said the BNP government has ended what he described as a subservient foreign policy during its first six months. He said the government is following a “Bangladesh first” approach in foreign relations. Amin made the remarks at a special meeting organized by the Prime Minister’s Press Wing at Shapla Hall in the Prime Minister’s Tejgaon Office on August 17.

Amin said the government is progressing through public trust, confidence and accountability. He said one of the most visible features of the past six months has been work to implement every pledge while keeping the election manifesto in view. He also claimed that the government has received unprecedented public support during the period.

The spokesperson said crowds gathered wherever the prime minister traveled across the country for public-engagement programmes. Attendees included political and agriculture adviser Nazrul Islam Khan, political and industries adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, public administration adviser Ismail Jabiullah, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan, and other officials and Press Wing members.
