Unofficial results of the 13th National Parliamentary Election in Madaripur district were announced early Friday (12 February) night by District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Jahangir Alam. According to the declaration, candidates from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) won two of the three constituencies, while the Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish secured one seat.

In Madaripur-1, Khelafat Majlish candidate Sayeed Uddin Ahmed Hanzala, with the rickshaw symbol, received 64,909 votes, narrowly defeating BNP’s Nadera Akter, who got 64,524 votes—a margin of only 385 votes. In Madaripur-2, BNP’s Jahandar Ali Mia won with 61,744 votes, ahead of independent candidate Milton Baidya, who received 46,476 votes. In Madaripur-3, BNP’s Anisur Rahman Khokon Talukdar secured 97,202 votes, while Jamaat candidate Maulana Rafiqul Islam obtained 87,331 votes.

The results remain unofficial and will be finalized after the Election Commission’s formal announcement.
