A Dhaka court has again deferred the charge-framing hearing against Sheikh Hasina and 33 others in the murder case of truck driver Md. Hossain, who was killed in Mohammadpur during the July uprising. Dhaka Special Judge Court No. 4 Judge Rabiul Alam set August 13 as the new date on Sunday afternoon. The report describes Hasina as being in India.

The hearing had previously been postponed on June 25 after the prosecution sought time because the accused were absent from court. It was deferred for a second time after defence lawyers requested additional time. The case names several former Awami League ministers and members of parliament, along with other accused.

According to the case details, Hossain was shot dead in the Chand Udyan area of Mohammadpur on July 19, 2024, during the anti-discrimination student movement. He had left his truck in Gabtoli and was returning home when he was shot and died at the scene. His mother, Rina Begum, filed the murder case on August 31, 2024. The investigating officer submitted a chargesheet against 34 people on November 23, 2025. Polak, Sadeque, Furkan and Shahjahan have been shown arrested and are in jail.
