The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has established a 161-member central coordinating committee for its labor wing. Mazharul Islam Fakir has been appointed as the chief coordinator, while motor transport worker Mosharraf Hossain Swapan will serve as joint coordinator. NCP emphasized that workers have been fighting for their fundamental rights since the colonial era, yet even after 54 years of independence, fair wages, safe working conditions, and social security remain elusive. The new labor wing aims to advocate for workers’ rights, push for better policies, and strengthen their voice in politics.
