An unnatural death case has been filed with Shahbagh Police Station following the recovery of the body of Dr. Farah Ferdous, a 32-year-old female doctor, in Dhaka. The case was lodged on Friday night by her younger sister, Najula Ferdous. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has collected DNA samples to determine the cause of death.

According to the case statement, Farah Ferdous was studying cardiovascular surgery at Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) and lived alone in a flat at Aziz Super Market in Shahbagh. Her sister Najula lived in another flat in the same building. The two last spoke on Tuesday, when Farah said she was in her room. On Friday afternoon, a neighbor informed Najula of a foul smell coming from Farah’s room. Police later broke open the door and found her unconscious.

Farah Ferdous was an officer of the 39th BCS (Health) cadre and a third-year student in the BMU cardiovascular course. The investigation into her death is ongoing.
