The court found that Pradeep planned the murder after Sinha’s video project exposed alleged police corruption and extrajudicial activities. According to the judgment, Pradeep was present at the scene, assaulted Sinha, and ensured his death, while Liakat fired four shots at Sinha’s upper body with his service pistol. The High Court upheld the death sentences for both officers and maintained life imprisonment for six other convicts involved in the conspiracy and assistance. The verdict, authored by Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman and concurred by Justice Md Saghir Hossain, was published on the Supreme Court’s website.
