Information and Broadcasting Minister Andaleeve Rahman Partho said Dhaka wants the return of not only deposed Sheikh Hasina but also all fugitives. He made the remarks to journalists at the Secretariat in the capital on Tuesday afternoon. The minister also said the government would not control the media.

Partho said no enforced disappearance had occurred in the country over the past six months. He said Bangladesh has sufficient fertilizer stocks and faces no shortage, although irregularities are occurring in distribution in some areas.

The minister said the current government did not come to power in normal circumstances and is passing through a sensitive period. He said the government would move forward if it retained public support. He also said there was no alternative to socially boycotting those who seek to establish fascism from an intellectual position.
