Australia left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc has risen to the top of the ICC Test bowling rankings for the first time in his career after a standout performance against Bangladesh in the Mackay Test. The 36-year-old moved up two places to displace India’s Jasprit Bumrah, while Australia won the match by an innings and 51 runs. The two-Test series finished level at 1-1.

Starc took 6 wickets for 12 runs in the first innings and added 4 for 39 in the second, completing a 10-wicket match haul. He was named both player of the match and player of the series. Bumrah dropped to second in the rankings, with New Zealand’s Matt Henry remaining third.

Australia captain Pat Cummins climbed one spot to fourth after taking six wickets in Mackay. Off-spinner Nathan Lyon entered the top 10 after moving up two places with three second-innings wickets. England’s Ollie Robinson rose 15 places to 11th after taking eight wickets against Pakistan at Headingley, while Josh Tongue advanced 16 places to 17th.
