A violent clash erupted between residents of Dhuliyakhali and Tetoia villages in Gopaya Union of Habiganj Sadar upazila on Monday night following a dispute over a Facebook post. The confrontation, which began around 9:30 p.m., lasted for about an hour and left at least 20 people, including a police officer, injured. The conflict reportedly started after announcements were made over loudspeakers urging villagers to gather, leading both sides to face off with local weapons.

According to local sources, the situation escalated quickly, resulting in stone-throwing, chasing, and counter-chasing between the two groups. The identities of the injured individuals were not immediately known. Following the incident, additional police forces were deployed to the area to restore order. Although the situation is now under control, tension remains high in both villages.

Additional Superintendent of Police Shahidul Haque Munshi stated that the clash likely originated from the Facebook post and that police are investigating the exact cause. Legal action will be taken against those found responsible after the investigation concludes.
