Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Vice President Md. Abu Sadiq Kayem has alleged that a deliberate attempt is underway to portray the July Revolution as a crime under the framing of fallen fascism. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, he expressed concern that a group is engaged in activities aimed at discrediting the July movement and undermining its objectives.

Kayem stated that efforts are being made to dispute the referendum and the July Charter, as well as to repeal the ordinance protecting movement participants. He warned that such propaganda and consent-building could have dangerous consequences. He also mentioned that some media outlets claim the government has given a “green signal” to certain police investigations.

The DUCSU VP urged the government to take necessary steps to stop the attempts by fascist beneficiaries to derail the July movement. He called for ensuring the safety of activists and implementing the aspirations of July in national life.
