Rashed Pradhan, vice-president and spokesperson of the National Democratic Party (JAGPA), criticized the current government during an 11-party alliance rally held in Chattogram on Saturday. He said the Awami League once had Bangabandhu, but the present government has 'card friends'. Pradhan also remarked that the home minister sounds more like the chief minister of Delhi than Bangladesh’s interior minister.

At the same event, Jamaat-e-Islami Member of Parliament Shahjahan Chowdhury stated that martyr Osman Hadi spoke for justice and fairness, and that the BNP must ensure justice if it returns to power. Earlier, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and opposition leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman arrived in Chattogram to attend the rally at Laldighi Maidan.

The 11-party alliance organized the gathering to demand implementation of public mandates, control of commodity prices, improvement of law and order, and establishment of citizens’ rightful entitlements.
