Nahid Islam, Convenor of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP), demanded that the July Declaration be formally included in the constitution. He argued that dismissing the declaration’s legal standing undermines the sacrifices made during the July uprising. Announcing a mass rally in Dhaka on August 3, Nahid emphasized that the declaration would safeguard the honor and security of all participants in the movement. He also highlighted issues like unfair crop prices in Dinajpur and called for eliminating regional and economic disparities.
