Though he anticipated being turned away, he still made the trip and waited outside briefly. Later at home, he saw Dr. Jahangir Kabir on TV confirming the surgery’s success, which gave him relief. Afsari noted that prayers for Dr. Shafiqur were being offered by people from all walks of life, not just Jamaat supporters.
