Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) central president Rakibul Islam Rakib stated that during the anti-fascist movement in July 2024, their activists set fire to Awami League offices across the country. He made the remark on Saturday at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon, Dhaka, while addressing the 'July National Conference 2026' organized to mark the anniversary of the July-August uprising, mourning, and victory.

Rakibul added that on August 4, JCD, Jubo Dal, and BNP played leading roles in driving out Chhatra League members from areas including Jatrabari and Shahbagh. He also mentioned that leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement had sought their cooperation, which they provided fully.

At the same event, Abu Hossain, elder brother of Abu Sayeed—the first martyr of the mass uprising—demanded swift execution of the verdict in his brother’s murder case. He urged for rehabilitation of affected families, preservation of July’s memories, and special initiatives to increase employment in northern regions.
