A man named Abdul Hai, a local BNP activist, was killed in a cocktail attack in Dubpara village of Jashore’s Benapole on Saturday evening, following a dispute over Eid prayers earlier that day. The attack, carried out by 4-5 assailants on motorcycles, also left another man, Md. Zia, injured. The incident has heightened tension in the area. Police suspect a long-standing rivalry led to the attack and have sent the body for autopsy after visiting the crime scene.
