A bus carrying teachers from Jagannath University was damaged in a road accident at Malibagh intersection in Dhaka on Sunday, July 12, 2026. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. under the Malibagh flyover, leaving two teachers and a motorcyclist injured. The bus, operating on the Badda route, collided with another vehicle from the Victor Classic service running on the Sadarghat to Baipail route.
According to university officials, the teachers’ air-conditioned coaster bus was descending from the Malibagh flyover when it was hit from behind by an unfit Victor Classic bus. The rear portion of the teachers’ bus was severely damaged. The injured individuals were taken to a hospital and given initial treatment.
University authorities have remained at Malibagh Police Station to initiate legal proceedings regarding the accident, and the complaint process is currently underway.
