Israel has described its new framework agreement with Lebanon as a major diplomatic and military success. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior members of his government are celebrating the deal as a victory, claiming it secures Israel’s long-standing demands. These include the absence of an immediate troop withdrawal obligation from Lebanon’s so-called security zone, the freedom to conduct military operations there if necessary, and the option for phased withdrawal without a fixed timeline.

According to official sources, these conditions align with Israel’s security and strategic interests, leading to broad satisfaction within Netanyahu’s administration. Opposition parties in Israel have not yet issued formal reactions, though political analysts suggest it will be difficult for them to portray the deal negatively.

From Israel’s perspective, the agreement could also heighten tensions between the Lebanese government and Hezbollah. Israeli officials believe that if Lebanon is compelled to act against Hezbollah on its own, Israel may avoid direct involvement in such conflicts, a scenario viewed as strategically advantageous for Israel.
