Bangladesh and China have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen their comprehensive strategic partnership by expanding cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity, and sustainable development. The pledge was made during Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman’s recent visit to China, where high-level discussions were held between the two countries.

A key part of the visit included a meeting in Beijing between Dr. Rahman and Wang Huning, Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Both sides reviewed the progress of bilateral relations, the scope of existing cooperation, and future prospects. They expressed satisfaction with ongoing initiatives under the strategic partnership and emphasized continued joint efforts to elevate the relationship further.

The discussions particularly focused on expanding trade, increasing Chinese investment, improving regional and global connectivity, enhancing infrastructure cooperation, and jointly participating in sustainable development initiatives. Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister, Humayun Kabir, and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to China, Nazmul Islam, were also present at the meeting.
