Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has called for national unity to build a hunger- and poverty-free Bangladesh. He emphasized that despite being a Muslim-majority country, Bangladesh belongs to people of all faiths. Speaking at an Iftar gathering, he stressed that inequality must be eradicated and warned that restricting religious teachings leads to societal decline. He also accused the ruling Awami League of widespread repression against Islamic scholars during its tenure.
