Advisor Asif Mahmud has accused Ishraq Hossain of committing a "criminal offense" by attending various meetings with administrative officials and staff of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) without officially taking the oath of office. He alleged that Ishraq has unlawfully occupied the city corporation’s auditorium and office, disrupting public services. "Ishraq has no legal authority to perform any administrative duties. His activities are fully obstructing service delivery to citizens," Mahmud said.

He further stated, "The government is showing restraint as it wishes to maintain cordial relations with BNP and other political parties. But if these disruptions continue, stricter measures may be necessary." Legal action regarding the criminal nature of Ishraq’s conduct is reportedly under consideration.
