A first-grade student named Alif Hossain, aged seven, died in a road accident in Titas upazila of Cumilla on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. The incident occurred around noon near Moniruzzaman Bhuiyan’s house in Ulukandi village under Balarampur Union. According to local sources, Alif went to buy snacks after school when a bakery goods van lost control and overturned on him. He was seriously injured and taken to Titas Upazila Health Complex, where doctors referred him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Alif died on the way to Dhaka.

The deceased was the younger son of Delwar Hossain from Purbo Para of Ulukandi village and a student of Ulukandi Government Primary School. News of his death cast a shadow of grief over the entire village, with relatives and neighbors mourning deeply.

Local residents reportedly began discussions with the bakery owner and van driver to reach a settlement with the victim’s family following the incident.
