Nine Rohingya from three families were detained while allegedly attempting to leave Bhasan Char in Noakhali by speedboat, according to the report. The incident occurred near duty post No. 112 at about 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 2. Ansar and Village Defence Force personnel and police conducted the joint operation.

On-duty Ansar personnel noticed what they described as suspicious movement by several Rohingya aboard a speedboat. They immediately coordinated with police and launched an operation, detaining all nine people along with various belongings they were carrying. The report said the individuals were caught during the operation.

The operation was led by Ansar and Village Defence Force battalion member Sepoy Md. Abdur Rahman, police Nayek Md. Azmul and Constable Md. Abu Bakar. After necessary verification, the detained people were taken back to Bhasan Char. Sources said security personnel remain on continuous alert to ensure security there, and the coordinated action thwarted the attempted departure and avoided a potential security risk.
