Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed made a surprise visit to Tejgaon Police Station in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon, assessing law and order, infrastructure and the quality of police services for residents. After the visit, the officer-in-charge of Tejgaon station was withdrawn. The officer-in-charge of Paltan Model Police Station was also withdrawn under an administrative order.

During the inspection, the minister spoke with officers on duty and toured administrative rooms, the duty officer’s room, investigation offices, the lock-up, residential barracks and the dining area. He gave directions on housing, meal quality and cleanliness for police personnel, and asked about night-duty and shift schedules. He also heard concerns from citizens visiting the station to file general diaries or complaints.

The minister instructed relevant officers to resolve complaints quickly, transparently and responsibly, stressing that visitors must not face harassment or neglect. The DMP commissioner’s order attached Tejgaon OC Kaishainu and Paltan OC Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Khan to central reserve, headquarters and administration units, effective from August 22. No reason for their withdrawal was stated.
