The Thanchi উপজেলা administration in Bandarban has temporarily suspended two tourist guides over allegations that they defied administrative instructions. Separate office orders, reported on August 6, imposed the measures against Abul Hossain and Garden Tripura. Both guides have been directed to refrain from all tourist-guide-related activities until further instructions are issued.

An order signed by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Abdullah Al Faisal suspended Abul Hossain, guide ID No. 2, for allegedly taking tourists on a trip in violation of administrative directions. The order issued on Thursday bars him from all guiding activities from August 6 through August 20.

In an earlier separate order, Garden Tripura, guide ID No. 34, was suspended from guiding activities for an indefinite period. The administration said the action followed allegations that he took tourists to a prohibited area and an incident in which a tourist died in a boat capsizing. It said regular monitoring is being conducted to ensure tourist safety and enforce government instructions, and that necessary action will be taken against violators.
