A five-member delegation from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) arrived in Dhaka on Sunday to inspect the Bangabandhu National Stadium ahead of a possible Brazil visit. The delegation is assessing whether Bangladesh could host a match at a neutral venue or a friendly against the Bangladesh national team, according to the report. Members went directly from the airport to the stadium and inspected its facilities for more than half an hour.

The delegation examined the main pitch grass, dressing rooms, press box, galleries and dugouts. Bangladesh Football Federation ground committee chairman Iqbal Hossain and general secretary Imran Hossain Tushar were present during the inspection. Iqbal said the CBF representatives expressed interest in playing in Bangladesh as a neutral venue and showed a positive attitude toward a direct friendly with Bangladesh.

The CBF team will submit a report on the stadium’s facilities and environment to its federation and may return if the ground is fully prepared. Brazil are scheduled to play two international matches in Australia on September 25 and 29. The report says the team could land in Dhaka on September 30 or October 1 for training before travelling to India, while final discussions between CBF and BFF are expected to clarify future plans.
