More than 9.1 million animals were sacrificed across Bangladesh during this year’s Eid-ul-Adha, according to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. This figure is nearly 1.3 million fewer than last year’s total.

According to official data, 9,136,734 animals were sacrificed during Eid-ul-Adha in 2025, compared to 10,408,918 in 2024. Of these, 4,705,106 were cows and buffaloes, 4,430,668 were goats and sheep, and 960 were other animals.

The Sylhet division recorded the lowest number of sacrificial animals this year, with only 319,823 animals sacrificed. Mymensingh division followed with 383,162 animals. Rajshahi division saw the highest number of sacrifices, totaling 2,324,971 animals.
