Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen said Israel would strike Iran again if Tehran attempts to restart its nuclear or ballistic missile programs. In an interview with Israeli news agency Ynet on Saturday, Cohen said Israel would act even if Iran reached an agreement with the United States.
Cohen stated that Israel would be ready to attack if Iran “makes a mistake” by seeking to resume either program. He also claimed that Iran would have obtained nuclear weapons if Israel had not carried out attacks.
According to Cohen, an Israeli intelligence assessment found that joint US-Israeli attacks had delayed Iran’s program by two to four years. He said Israel had already demonstrated its capabilities. The report cited Dawn as its source.
