At least 20 people were injured when a Dhaka-bound bus to Bandarban lost control and fell into a ravine early Sunday morning. The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on March 22, 2026, near the northern side of the local campus of Bandarban University in Suwalak Union, Bandarban Sadar upazila. The bus, operated by Saudía Transport, was carrying 43 passengers, including the driver, supervisor, and helper.

According to local sources, five people, including the bus supervisor, were seriously injured. Following the crash, announcements were made through the Suwalak Central Jame Mosque loudspeaker urging locals to assist in rescue efforts. Residents quickly arrived at the scene and helped transport the injured to Bandarban Sadar Hospital. Police and a fire service team also joined the rescue operation shortly after receiving the report.

Bandarban Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Manna Dey confirmed that the injured tourists were taken to the hospital. The passengers had departed from Dhaka the previous night for a trip to Bandarban.
