In a bid to resolve the ongoing crisis at the National Board of Revenue (NBR), Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed has invited protesting officials for a dialogue on Thursday, June 26, at 5 PM. Representatives from the BCS (Tax) and BCS (Customs & Excise) cadres are expected to attend. The Finance Ministry expressed hope that misunderstandings would be resolved and necessary amendments to the current ordinance could be made by July 31. The adviser also urged all NBR staff to return to their posts and focus on revenue collection in the final days of the fiscal year.
